Harry Duran of Podcast Junkies discusses the importance of podcasting
Hey all, my name is Harry and I’d like to tell you a little bit about myself.
I’ve been aspiring to kick off this entrepreneurial thing for years now. After several false starts I was able to get my first mobile app built in late 2012. But needless to say, it was no ‘Flappy Bird’. Which is OK, because electronic music is one of my passions, having been a DJ for 20+ years. One important takeaway is to work on things you’re passionate about, because it will definitely get you through the highs and lows.
Fast forward to early 2014, and via an ah-ha moment I experienced at New Media Expo, I had the desire to start up a podcast. Although it seemed a bit meta, and straight out of Being John Malkovich, I thought, “Hey, how about a podcast about my love of podcasts and people who are on the same page as me?” It seemed like an inspiring enough idea so I moved forward.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of having conversations with a wide array of interesting and engaging podcasters. Some of my most memorable guests have included veteran podcasters such as Gary Leland, Cliff Ravenscraft, John Lee Dumas and Pat Flynn, Marc Maron Executive Producer, Brendan McDonald, Lea Thau, Host of Strangers, Helen Zaltzman, Host of The Allusionist, and Jordan Harbinger, Host of The Art of Charm, just to name a few.
