Do you enjoy podcasts? What about podcasting? Are you looking for a solid side hustle or starting your own business? Have you considered becoming a podcast producer? You may think producing a podcast is a complicated and expensive process, but thankfully, it is not.
As a podcast producer myself (PodSeam.com), I was intrigued when I first learned about Podcast Production School (or “PPS” for future reference) founded by Gina Horkey (whom you may know from Horkey’s Handbook), Hailey Thomas, and Melanie Scroggins.

What I really enjoyed and appreciated about the course is that it was very organized and comes with detailed instructions.
I also appreciate that they give additional sources, links, and videos for additional learning outside of the course. They also provide samples of show notes and transcripts in addition to having a glossary of terms.
At the end of each section, there is homework, and you have to complete a quiz with a score of at least 70% before you can move on to the next course. This ensures that you really grasp one concept before moving on to the next. I’m not gonna lie . . . I had to retake a couple of quizzes, and I’m already a podcast producer. At the completion of the course, there is also a final exam.
Some of the topics discussed are:
- Different types of podcasts and podcast roles
- Podcasting process
- Stages of podcast production
- The difference between a podcast project manager and a podcast producer
- How to vet and onboard clients
- How to price and pitch
- Guest management
The Course Includes
- An Overview of Podcasting
- Understanding the Types and Parts of a Podcast
- Podcast Process and Workflow
- Services You Can Offer as a Podcast Producer
- Technical Set-up and Audio Editing
- Episode Distribution
- Episode and Show Note Creation
- Podcast Project Management
- Guest Management
- Content Repurposing
- Marketing and Promotion
- Working With Clients (packages, pricing, contracts and onboarding!)
- Technical Training
- Templates and Checklists
- Certification
In addition, you also get . . .

But . . . perhaps my favorite part of the course is that upon completion, you get this awesome certificate of completion badge to display on your website.
I have this badge proudly displayed on my own website as seen here:
Now let’s talk pricing.
You can pay one of two ways: $598 one-time payment or $99/mo for 7 months.
For an additional fee of $49/mo ($1 your first month), you can join their membership community which gives you access to Gina, Mel, and Hailey, free WordPress hosting account through Firewheel (a $30/mo value), specialized training and challenges, and best of all: access to unique leads. It is worth joining the membership for the leads alone.
Where does PPS get the leads, you may ask? They have a dedicated page on their website just for people looking for a podcast producer to submit their requests and then PPS sends the requests out to the community.
Value . . . Priceless.
